Out of School Hours Care Before and After School and Vacation Care
To help working parents, we provide a safe, supervised, accredited OSHC service for children in Prep to Year 6.
Our OSHC service operates from air-conditioned rooms in the John Hancock Centre under the gymnasium, from 6.30am – 8.30am and 2.30pm - 6.00pm on school days, and from 6.30am - 6.00pm during school holidays and pupil-free days.
A new dynamic program is coordinated each term by a qualified child care professional, Mrs Tricia McInally. Activities make the most of seasonal climates and the School’s excellent facilities - swimming, art and craft, sports, indoor & outdoor games, educational and recreational excursions, and theme days.
Our OSHC staff is qualified to provide Active After-School Sports – a structured program funded by the government. Multi-skills are held once a week by our qualified OSHC staff; a registered provider comes in on Wednesday to teach the children specific skills relating to a variety of sports e.g. cheer leading, basketball etc.
A $25 enrolment fee per child is required to accompany Enrolment Form. Permanent bookings will be taken and accounted for each term time at the reduced rate nominated below. Charges are applicable regardless of cancellations, illness or public holidays.
To register your children you must complete an OSHC enrolment form (one per child) an $80 bond for each child will be charged to parents accounts at the IGGS Accounts Office. The bond will be refunded when parents give notice that their child will no longer be using the services of the Centre. An annual administration enrolment fee of $25 will be charged for each child using the Centre.
|Bookings||Before School||After School||Vacation Care|
|Permanent||$13||$20||$50 (includes breakfast, lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea)|
Vacation Care costs $50 per child per day regardless of the length of stay (casual - $55). This includes breakfast if required, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Excursion travel and admission costs are extra.
A fee is sometimes charged for materials supplied by visiting performers and activity leaders. OSHC costs are not included as part of the school fees, in fairness to the many IJGS families who do not use this service.
Child Care Benefits are applicable if you register your child with the School’s Before and After School Care and Vacation Care services through Centre link’s Family Assistance Office.
Bookings are essential so that the OSHC team can confirm the appropriate staffing level requirements for each day. Advance notice of how many children will be attending each day also ensures that our catering staff can plan an assortment of nutritious and tasty meals in ample quantities for active, growing bodies and look after children who have special dietary needs.
